Jayde Traditional Art

I finished a sketchbook, so I figured I would go through some of the pictures I like the most, add some alterations to them, and post them here. As you can see by the date, I drew this at the end of last year. Usually I would not put up art that old, but I actually liked this picture enough to do so.

Anyway, I wanted to say a few things about Jayde that I have changed. I type this more for my own benefit so I can keep track of things that happen in my worlds (I like having my ideas written down so I can put more thought behind my stories and pictures), but to those who are looking at this, I thank you for taking the time to peek inside my imagination c:

Jayde's species is now something I call a "Tri-breed", also known as a three-form creature, but Jayde specifically is a Trifelid (three-form feline). These tri-breeds aren't too uncommon on Zoltar-- it's just a gene that doesn't show up very often. Tri-breeds have three different forms: a weak or "baby" form, their natural form, and a power form. These creatures assume their weak form and cannot change to other forms until after childhood. In this weak form, only about one or two weak abilities can be used. Once maturity is reached though, the natural form is assumed and the creature changes to its weak form when injured. The powerful form can be accessed in early maturity only when extremely threatened or enraged, and the creature is able to use a few more powers it cannot usually use in its natural form.
